About:

As this week is health week, I thought it would be a great idea to review a product to help promote healthy living. The Procizion Spiralizer  is one of those products that does just that.

Upon opening the box, you will get 1Procizion Spiralizer  along with a super thin cleaning brush  and an amazing peeler. After you have all of your products, it is time to get shredding. All you have to do is take the vegetable push down and turn. It is ver simple and easy to do. If you are nervous about getting cut or allowing teens to help, there is a protective lid provided.

I used the Procizion Spiralizer already to put a fun twist on salads as well as stir fries and other fun healthy options. If you and your family are more daring, try shredding a zucchini and adding tomato sauce on top. It will be like eating spaghetti and sauce, only healthier.

Pros:

  • Vegetable shredder
  • Vegetables come out in fun spaghetti shapes making it fun for kids to eat
  • Easy to use
  • East to clean

Cons:

  • On some occasions, I noticed the blade getting clogged and a piece of vegetable getting stuck on the bottom. I had to stop, clean it out and continue.
  • Not good for large families. If you are going to use it for a large group, it will take to long. I use it for making one or two portions but no more. Way to time consuming.

Healthy Ideas:

  • Salads: I have been starting to increase my girls salad intake. With the Procizion Spiralizer we made eating salad more fun. Rather then just cubing the vegetables, I have my girls select two vegetables. After shredding it, they sprinkle with garlic and eat. There favorite combo seems to be cucumber and pickle. They have fun eating and it is super healthy. For added color, try shredding a carrot.
  • Stir Fry: I know the title sound unhealthy but we do not use any oil. Using a green nonstick pan,  brown some onions, and garlic. Once ready add shredded zucchini and carrots. This goes great with a nice poached salmon.

Bottom Line:

Having tested the Procizion Spiralizer on multiple dishes already, I can say my girls are very happy with eating healthy. My 11 year old loves shredding the vegetables while my 7 year old enjoys topping them with healthy options like garlic powder. They have become my little healthy chefs.

I would recommend the Procizion Spiralizer if you are looking to make healthy options in small batches. It is a great tool and if you have kids, this will be a great way to get them involved in making healthy choices the fun way.
